Maharishi School Skelmersdale, England

Vedic Maths at the Maharishi school,
Skelmersdale, England

This school teaches a standard range of subjects whilst integrating the educational principles of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. These principles (The Science of Creative Intelligence) are specifically designed to integrate knowledge from different areas of study. Thus allowing the students a deeper insight into the knowledge they learn.

Derek Cassells is the Headmaster at the school. "Vedic Mathematics allows the students to identify patterns, the same patterns that are identified in Science of Creative Intelligence. This integrates the curriculum and gives depth to the students understanding:They see harmony in the diversity."

Mark Gaskell is the maths teacher at the school. He teaches the Cosmic Computer Vedic Maths course to the pupils from 11-14 years of age.

Comments from children at the school
about Vedic Mathematics

James - It enables you to do difficult sums in a fun and easy way.

Eric - You can do sums in your head and really complicated sums in a very simple way. There are easy ways to remember how to do them.

Emma - Its easier than normal maths: instead of one way, there are lots of ways and you can choose your own method.

Gemma - You can multiply two 2-figure numbers together in your head.

Deborah - I can now even challenge my dad in maths sums and beat him! (that is a great improvement). The maths games were fun and helped a lot.

Arabella - Vedic maths has really good tricks which my friends from other schools don't know and spend ages over their sums.
